Reef Rumble is a fighting party game, to be released in early 2022 on PC on a first time then on consoles in a second time. It is developed by a small team of 2 developers based in France. In this game, you can take control of your custom jellyfish and battle with your friends in highly dynamic physic-based fights, for fun or to see who is the best. Step into the ring from 2 to 8 players clashes in local or online play. The game includes various gamemodes and settings to spice up the experience. Pierce the weak spot of your opponents using submarine dangers to eliminate them and score points to become the ruler of the reefs!
Reef Rumble idea emerged during a game jam in 2020. Back there, the idea was of a little game where you had to beat your opponent by kicking a ball in his weak point. Characters being jellyfishes, looking like a bumper and having an open side, and sea urchins, looking like a dangerous ball, followed this first design. From this pitch, it was decided to create a wider game. The project started in March 2021, with the idea to make a punchy but cute party game and to enhance the initial gameplay with more moves and goals. The team now targets a release of the game in early 2022 and to add additional content in the following months.
- Local or online multiplayer arena battles, from 2 to 8 players.
- Explosive, tactical and physics based combats.
- A really easy to play game for new players, but hard to master for experienced ones.
- Cute customizable little jellyfishes.
- Several gamemodes and loads of gameplay settings possible.
